Still Waking To Tears
Submissions Guidelines:
Submissions are being accepted for a collection of essays, stories and speeches by anyone who has lost a loved one to violence. The concept of the book is to express stories, thoughts, loss and the pain surrounding violence. Submissions can also describe the experience of the trial process, parole hearings and the life changing experience of violence. Through our sharing we can help each other.
The anthology, titled Still Waking To Tears, picks up from Waking To Tears. Waking To Tears was published in 2001 and has continued to make an impact amongst many people. Still Waking To Tears is an opportunity to share and educate society that we have a voice and need to be heard that the pain is real. The anthology, titled Still Waking To Tears, picks up from Waking To Tears.
Ms. Nelson is a published writer, author and poet. She's lost both parents to violence. As she has tried to understand the senseless act of violence, she has found comfort in talking with other victims/survivors who have lived similar experiences and feel the devastating loss of losing a loved one to violence.
Things to Remember:
· Not everyone's submission will appear in the book.
· You can sign your essay, story or speech with your first name, full name or anonymous.
· A completed and signed release form for each piece of your written work.
· Please do not include personal full names, law agencies or organizations in piece unless you have included a signed release from anyone mentioned by full name or organization. If this is not possible then please try to disguise the identity in your piece so the person would not be able to recognize their identity.
· For your work to be considered you must be 20 years of age please include your age on the release form.
Accepted submissions will receive notification via regular mail.
